Terms of use
These terms apply when you use the MOT Atlas website. Last updated 1 September 2026.
1. About these terms
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. The site is operated by MOT Atlas.
2. What this service is
MOT Atlas lets you view the MOT history recorded for a vehicle. Records are read live from the official MOT database and presented for information only.
3. Where the records come from
Every result is read live from the official MOT database at the moment you ask for it. Nothing is created, edited or estimated by this site, and no record is stored after the page has been served. MOT test records are held by the official source and remain subject to that source's terms.
4. Using the service
You agree not to:
- use the service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass or mislead anyone;
- attempt to gain access to the admin area or any part of the service you are not authorised to use;
- make automated bulk requests, scrape the site, or take any action that places an unreasonable load on the service;
- interfere with the security or availability of the service.
5. Accuracy of information
MOT records are supplied by the official MOT database. While we present them as accurately as we can, we cannot guarantee that a record is complete, current or free from error. An MOT pass confirms that a vehicle met the minimum standards on the day of the test; it is not a guarantee of the vehicle's condition, and it is not a full vehicle history.
Do not rely on this website alone when buying a vehicle. Check the vehicle in person, use the official government service, and take independent advice where a decision matters.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the service available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. The service may be changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time, and we may restrict access to protect the service or other users.
7. Intellectual property
The design, text and code of this website belong to MOT Atlas. Vehicle records are provided by the official source and remain subject to that source's terms. You may print or save a result for your own personal use.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, MOT Atlas is not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or the information shown on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Links to other sites
Where this site links to another website, we are not responsible for its content or its privacy practices.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version published on this page, with the date shown at the top, is the version that applies.
