Who we are
MOT Atlas is an independent MOT history service. For any question about this notice, or about the personal information you have sent us, please use the contact form.
What we collect
You can check a vehicle's MOT history without giving us any personal information. We only collect personal information when you choose to send it to us:
- when you send a message through the contact form, we collect your name, email address, the topic you selected, your message, an optional registration number, and standard technical information about the request;
- when an administrator signs in, we record the sign in attempt, the username and the network address, to protect the admin area from abuse.
Why we use it
Contact form details are used to answer your message and to keep a record of the enquiry. Sign in records are used only to keep the admin area secure by detecting repeated failed attempts.
Legal basis
We process contact form information because it is necessary to respond to your request. Security logging is carried out in our legitimate interest of keeping the service safe and available.
How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. Failed sign in records are deleted automatically after 7 days. Pages you request are not stored against your name.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. Information may be handled by our hosting provider on our instructions, and only where we are required to do so by law.
MOT records are not your data
An MOT record describes a vehicle, not a person. The records shown here are taken live from the official MOT database and are not stored by MOT Atlas after the page has been served.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information you have sent us, and you can object to how it is used. Send your request through the contact form and we will respond within one month.
Changes
If this notice changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
